Mineral Springs Baptist Staff (Updated 4/4/08)
Andy has been Senior Pastor of Mineral Springs
since 1996. Before coming to Mineral Springs he had been the pastor of two
other congregations. Andy graduated from Liberty University with a
Bachelor’s degree and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a
Masters of Divinity.
Pastor Robert "Bobby" Harris, Jr. came to Mineral Springs Baptist Church in 1989 as Associate Pastor working in the areas of music, youth and senior adults. He and his wife, Renee, came here from First Baptist Church in Salisbury, NC where he had served for three years as associate pastor. He met Renee while they were in college and were married in June, 1985. He and Renee have one son, Robert, III "Trey", Born 8/11/89 (Age 18).
Micah Young, Associate Pastor, Minister to Students (PHOTO COMING SOON!) Micah was born again by God's grace through the ministry of his parents and youth leaders. He was taught God's Word from childhood and began considering a call to ministry early on. During and immediately after his undergraduate training at Virginia Tech, God confirmed his call to the ministry. He attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in North Carolina for pastoral training.
Micah has served at White Rock Baptist Church (Hardy, VA), Rainbow Forest Baptist Church (Troutville, VA) and Grace Fellowship Church (Roanoke, VA). In these places, he enjoyed the varying roles of youth, singles, education and preaching ministry. Micah has been married to Rita since 1995, and they have three boys named Ethan (Born October 1998) age 9, Luke (Born March 2000) age 8 and Nicholas (Born March 2003) age 5.
Micah, philosophy of ministry is based upon his theological conviction that God is ultimate and all humanity desperately needs His grace. The goal of a healthy youth ministry is to see children and youth come to a radical God-centered understanding of themselves, the culture they live in and how to engage that culture to the glory of God.
Patricia Stevens (Pat as we call her and the
school children “Mrs. Pat”) began her ministry as our church secretary in
March, 1996. She and her husband Glenn were raised in the area, left for a
while and returned in March 1994 and built their dream house—a log cabin.
Pat was raised a Baptist and has a very strong faith and commitment to her
God, church and family.
